INFO FOR FAMILIES - HOW AUSTRALIAN FAMILIES CAN SAVE MONEY

The family will need to provide their Au Pair with:

• Bedroom, bed sheets, blankets, pillows and towels
• Laundry facilities and laundry products
• 3 meals a day (including weekends), however it does not mean that the family has to cook for the Au Pair. It means that you need to provide the food. They can cook if necessary.

The cost of those items mentioned above would be approximately per week:

• Rent $120.00
• Laundry $5.00
• 3 meals a day $90.00
• Total of $85.00

In return, the family receives:
Demi-Pair program:
4 hours per day of work, 5 days a week (total of 20 hours a week) which equates to $300 per week if paying an employee paid employee (AUS $15 per hour). The family saves approximately AUS $85.00 per week.

Full-Time Au Pair program:
25 to 40 hours a week, 5 days a week (minimum AUS $150 per week - AUS $ 6.00 per hour). If the family had this work done by a paid employee, it would be at least $375 per week (AUS $15 per hour). The family saves approximately AUS $ 235.00 per week.
