Here is how an Australian family can save money
using our Au Pair House programs:
The au pair is provided with their own bedroom, but not necessarily
their own bathroom. Amenities such as TV and audio are sometimes
provided but are not a requirement. The au pair should share all
other areas of the house with the family. She is also provided with
all meals as well utilities such as electricity and gas free of
charge. Personal phone calls are the responsibility of the au pair.
It is worth bearing in mind that the more comfortable the au pair
is in your home, the more successful the host period is likely to
be.
The family will have a new person in the house that must be provided
with:
- Bedroom, bed sheets, blankets, pillows and towels
- Laundry facilities and laundry products
- 3 meals a day (including weekends), however it does not mean
that the family has to cook for the au pair. It means that you
need to provide the food. They can cook if necessary.
The cost of those items mentioned above would be approximately
per week:
| Rent |
$120.00 |
| Laundry |
$ 5.00 |
| 3 meals a day |
$ 50.00 |
| Total of |
$175.00 |
Now, here is what a family
is getting in return:
Average of 4 hours per day of work, 5 days a week.
If the family had this work done by a paid employee, it would be
at least $350 per week.
Think of how many things they can do in your
home everyday? It is wonderful chance for you to gain valuable help
at home while at the same time it offers the chance for international
people to experience an Australian family’s way of life.
